At the water's edge, on the windy dike, casting a sidelong glance—a willow whistle drives off the dust and smoke. Slender green shadows outdo the true immortals. Lightly drifting catkins, from the highest heaven.

On the paper the ink runs thick, the sweet-herb scent draws near; damp clouds are slow to move, the billows swirl back. Ice flesh and jade bone contend with the gauze gown. Whose house is so fortunate—color laid along the curved moon of the brows.

Glosses—

Sweet-herb scent [hengwu]: the fragrance of aromatic grasses;
Slow to move [shehuan]: tardy; unhurried;
Swirling billows: waves turning and circling back.
