Shuangtian Xiaojue: Winter Solstice

The pine stands tall and graceful as jade; time steals the divine brush. Waking, clouds stream past the mountain gate, hurrying the dawn to break, facing the sheer cliff.
The last snow lies in the cool air; the things of the world are schooled to a quiet beauty. Still I remember the fledgling eagle going far away, and pity, long and long, this heaven and earth of past and present.
Glosses—
Green light: time, the passing years;
The cool air (sa li): having the look of coolness.
