A Mortal Life, Born of One Thought

A smile, a worldly bond; a thought, a quiet mind.

This is my collection of poems in classical Chinese ci forms, written to the thirteen rhyme groups of modern Mandarin. Some trace the inner journeys of my travels; others hold the feelings of the moment. All come from lived experience and genuine feeling.

I hope to make the passing years my pen and write in every known ci form, giving verse the many tastes of the seasons, the light and shadow of mountains and seas, and the presences and absences of the heart. May you find a corner of your own mortal life in these words, and a little stillness amid the turmoil.
