On the field path they gather the plump lotus root; a child in horn-braids takes the hill ridge in their arms. Washing clothes, the stone and the club are busy; the erhu lifts.
Apricot porridge ladled out fragrant; sweet wine softens the winding gut. By borrowed moonlight they work the shadow puppets; the wild bridge is cool.
