In a blink the years and months pile up. The affairs of the world: spurring through the dust of the march, tempering the lines on my brow.
Light horsemen—who will lead them across the desert? The clash of arms breaks a deep dream. Again I see the whipping in the wind, sweeping the yellow clouds.
Glosses—
Crossing the desert: to pass over the sands;
Yellow clouds: the clouds of the frontier. In the desert country beyond the passes the yellow sand flies up and the sky is often yellow, hence the name.
