Shao Nian You · Wind Sweeping the Last Clouds · Illustration

Flowers crowd, swallows dance, the ink-dark clouds thin; in a time of peace even the clear ripples grow lazy. Tea simmers over a slow fire, a wine-warm breeze eases resentment; the dust settles on a lotus cut from its root.

Merry wandering spends its pleasure, learning stays shallow; a passing guest on life's road, I walk and cut down demons. Wild game and plain gruel, a cold fragrance driving off weariness — who knows I lie moored far from home?
