The closer you come to wholeness, the further you are from who you once were.
You awaken in Huashiyuan as a faint remnant of consciousness. To recover your scattered self, you enter different eras and lives, seeking fragments of your soul—and meeting other consciousnesses willing to entrust you with their memories and unresolved desires.
Those lost fragments have become people with memories and bonds of their own. Recognizing them, growing close, or saying goodbye will shape who you become.

Enter a body—and the identity, circumstances, and relationships that come with it. Through conversations, tasks, and conflicts, uncover its memories while tracing your own origins.
Meet others. Choose for yourself.
Beyond romance, there are family ties, close friends, mentors, allies, and rivals. Closeness takes time, and promises have a cost. Refusal and departure can be answers, too.
Return with the consequences
When a life ends, return to Baishijian, your refuge between lives. At the Guijian Terrace, arrange your bamboo slips, mend your soul, and reflect on the consciousnesses you have absorbed before entering another life. Each experience leaves a mark, changing you as you pass through the cycle.
Classical culture, lived day by day
Forms of address, customs, poetry, music, and everyday objects become part of how people live and choose.
The etiquette of a visit, an exchange of letters, a poetry gathering, or a late-night conversation can change a relationship. Food, clothing, travel, craft, and social conventions shape each character’s circumstances, bringing history into the texture of daily life.
